The Countdown is On for All Washed Up 2021!

Hard to believe, but Vermilion’s 3d Annual Driftwood Art Contest, All Washed Up 2021 is just 10 weeks away! Mark your calendar now and plan to be there to celebrate art, creativity, driftwood, and our most valuable natural resource: Great Lake Erie.

All Washed Up 2021 will be Saturday, July 31, 10AM-3PM, in Exchange Park in the heart of downtown Vermilion. It’s free, fun, and open to all—whether you plan to enter a unique driftwood creation in the contest or to view the entries and vote for your favorite to receive the People’s Choice award.

Ten weeks is plenty of time to gather your driftwood, get creative, and be part of the celebration. You don’t need to be an artist to enter and WIN!  There is a category for everyone: kids, teens, adults, teams, and a brand new category – All Washed Up 3D! For details and to register online simply click here.

Judging will take place at 10AM and prizes for 1st place, runner up, and honorable mention in each category will be awarded at 11AM Voting for People’s Choice will take place throughout the day, then the coveted prize will be presented at the end of the event at 3PM.

This year All Washed Up is made possible through the generosity of our founding sponsor, the Vermilion Arts Guild, and our new education collaborator, the Lake Erie Foundation (LEF) whose mission is “to create and maintain a healthy Lake Erie now and forever.”

During All Washed Up, the LEF will shine a spotlight on plastic contamination and its impact on the health of Lake Erie waters, life forms, industry, recreation, and every one of us. Look for the LEF table at All Washed Up to learn how you can take steps to stop plastics from entering our lake and waterways in the first place. For more on plastic contaminations, click here.  The valuable and actionable information provided by LEF will benefit all, especially our precious Lake Erie!

While enjoying your day at All Washed Up you can also:

  • Enter our 50/50 raffle

  • Win artwork donated by members of the Vermilion Arts Guild

  • Shop for a driftwood sailboat, a seashell tote, or some fun temporary tattoos

So tell your friends, bring your family, and be part of the fun at All Washed Up 2021, Saturday, July 31, 10AM-3PMin Exchange Park, downtown Vermilion.
