Public Art Vermilion Celebrates the
Return of the Buoy Tree Project! Join Us!
Public Art Vermilion’s (PAV) Buoy Tree Project is a creative collaboration between individuals, families, businesses and organizations who help design this memorable public art installation for the winter holiday. In its third year, the Buoy Tree is a tribute to Vermilion’s maritime history and what happens when community works together.
Every year, this fantastic installation features a fresh collection of 350 original buoys that participants paint or decorate. The buoys are displayed on a 12-foot high “tree” in Downtown Vermilion and viewed by thousands of visitors to Vermilion throughout the holidays and into Ice A Fair.
Let’s create! Whether you’re a skilled artist or just someone who likes to make art, this project is for all skill levels, all ages, and everyone is welcome to join in, regardless of where you live. Our Early Buoy Sale is going on now. Buoys are $25 through August 1, 2025 ($30 after that, until supplies run out). Order here and pick up at Main Street Vermilion, 685 Main Street, Monday through Friday, 10AM-4PM and Saturday and Sunday, Noon-4PM.
The Buoy Tree is a fundraiser for Public Art Vermilion, a program of Main Street Vermilion [501(c)3]. A portion of your cost is tax deductible.
